How To: Fix Browser Access to Sky Store and Sky Go

How to fix Sky Store

One of the many fantastic things about Sky's services is that over recent years, they've made a significant effort to expand their web-based services like Sky Store and Sky Go on to as many platforms as possible. Part of that is financially motivated, as the more devices you can get these services on the more potential customers you have. Largely though, it's a move on Sky's behalf to make things easier for people, and a recognition that we interact with the Internet in a variety of different ways. As such, both of those services are now available on Sky boxes, phones, tablets and more.

Of course, there are still hundreds of thousands of people who use their web browsers to access these websites, and having them fail to work properly can be a real hassle. In this new 'How To' guide we'll look at how you can try to get them working again. Previously, we discovered how to change your Sky PIN.

The first thing you should do is to check whether the website is up and working as it should be for other people. Back in the day, this would have meant calling up the command line and pinging the server directly, but now there's an easier way. A website called Is It Down Right Now? will tell you whether the website is functioning properly or whether it's down for everyone who arrives on it. If it is down, there's nothing you can do but wait for Sky to fix it on their end. They've got a team of people who work on these things, so it shouldn't be too long.

If it's only down for you, then you should try restarting your computer and wireless router. Power down your PC and unplug your router from the wall before waiting 20 seconds and plugging it back in again. Wait until it's fully powered up again and turn on your PC. If you still can't access the websites, try these steps (depending on which browser you're using)

1). Internet Explorer:

- Firstly, open ‘Internet Explorer'.

- After that choose the ‘Tools menu’ and then select the ‘Internet Options’.

- Select the ‘Connections’ tab.

- Click on the ‘LAN Settings’ button.

- Then in the ‘Local Area Network (LAN) Settings’ window, un-check every box in the ‘Automatic configuration and Proxy server’ segments.

- Click ‘OK’ and ‘OK’ again to close every pop-up box.

- After that shut the window and restart the browser.

2). Mozilla Firefox:

- After that choose the ‘Firefox button’ just on the Firefox browser’s top left > Choose the ‘Options menu’> then choose ‘Options’.

- Then select the ‘Advanced’

- Then click the ‘Network’

- After that choose the ‘Settings’

- Then select the ‘Use system proxy settings’

- Click ‘OK’ and ‘OK’ again to close every pop-up box.

- After that shut the window and restart the browser.

3). Google Chrome:

- Open up ‘Google Chrome'.

- Then click on the ‘Tools menu’ and then select ‘Options’.

- Click on the ‘Under the Bonnet’ option.

- Then choose the ‘Change proxy settings’ option.

- After then choose the ‘Connections’ option in the pop up box.

- Then click on the ‘LAN settings’ button.

- Then in the ‘Local Area Network (LAN) Settings’ window, un-check every box in the ‘Automatic configuration and Proxy server’ segments.

- Click ‘OK’ and ‘OK’ again to close every pop-up box.

- Then close the window and restart the browser.

4). Safari:

- Open the ‘Safari’ browser.

- After that choose the ‘Settings’ menu and then click on the ‘Preferences’ option.

Thanks for writing, and sharing, this Lisa. At first I thought, wow, she’s on a roll, I can barely keep up with her articles, but after the first few sentences I understood where this was going and the seriousness of it. I appreciate you sharing John and his fa2m1yil7;s story of an unforgettable day. I could never let another 9/11 go by without pausing to remember that too many innocent lives were lost on that day. http://iqodzbvil.com wxlfkeahawf [link=http://ovmtvptjw.com]ovmtvptjw[/link]
