how to use sky store

Sky aren’t short of ways to make your TV viewing experience a more pleasurable one. From catch up TV to On Demand via Sky+, there’s countless ways to enjoy your favourite programmes now. When those services don’t work though it’s a real pain. Today we’ll be looking at how to fix On Demand problems.

Before anything else, you’ll have to ensure that your Sky box is hooked up to the Internet. This can be done via a wired connection into the back of your Sky box, through a Sky wireless adapter for older Sky boxes or through the built in Wi-Fi on new Sky models. With that done, you should update to the latest version of the software.

For those using a wired connection, follow these steps:

Step 1:

  • Press services option on your Sky remote. The Options tab will be highlighted.

Step 2:

  • Press the down arrow button. The Sky+ Setup menu will be highlighted.

Step 3:

  • Press the left/right arrow button. The Customize option would be highlighted. Then press select.

Step 4:

  • Select the down arrow button. The ‘Enable On Demand Downloads’ option would be highlighted.

Step 5:

  • Now reset the ‘Enable On Demand Downloads’ setting.

Reminder: Resetting your Enable Sky On Demand setting will re-establish the Enable On Demand service with your Sky box.

Step 6:

  • Press select on your remote.

Step 7:

  • Use the left/right arrow button to change the setting to OFF.

Step 8:

  • Press the green button on your remote to save your settings.

Step 9:

  • Select the down arrow. The Enable On Demand Downloads option will be highlighted.

Step 10:

  • Use the left/right arrow button to change the setting to ON.

Step 11:

  • Press the green button on your remote to again save your settings.

Note: Now you have to switch off and reboot your Sky box and router.

Step 12:

  • Just press the standby button on your Sky remote.
  • Switch off your Sky box at the mains.
  • Just check whether the power light on your Sky box is off before proceeding.

Step 13:

  • Switch off your router at the mains.
  • Again check whether the lights on the router are off.
  • Just ensure that the Ethernet cable is firmly connected between your Sky box and your router.

Step 14:

  • Now switch ON your router at the mains.
  • Just ensure that the power and internet lights are on when the router gets rebooted.

Step 15:

  • Switch ON your Sky box back at the mains.
  • The power light will display as amber/red while the Sky box powers up.

Step 16:

  • Just wait for 4 minutes. Then press the sky button on your Sky remote.
  • When the power light will turn green your Sky box is ready.

Step 17:

  • Select Catch up TV and press select.
  • Select >Sky Channels and again press select.
  • Select the right/left arrow buttons to highlight any show that doesn’t have the play icon.
  • Press the select button and then choose to download in either HD (High Definition) or SD (Standard Definition).
  • You’ll view the word change to ‘DOWNLOADING’.
  • Once the wording changes to ‘AVAILABLE’, you are ready to watch your favorite program.

If you’re using a wireless connection, follow these steps:

  • Check whether the WPS button is present on your Sky box or not, if it is, then repeat the steps for the wired connection from Step 1 through 17.
  • If not, just select which of the on demand connectoryou possess: Wireless Connecter or Wireless Connecter Mini. In both cases, again repeat the previous mentioned steps from Step 1 to Step 17.

And with that, your On Demand problems should be solved. If problems persist, consider contacting the Sky customer services phone number or through their website.
